On Saturday in downtown San Diego, a man was killed after being involved in multiple collisions on Interstate 5. The man was driving a Honda Civic north of J Street around 10:00 pm when he was involved in a “property damage only” crash, according to FOX 5 San Diego. He then exited his vehicle and stood in the traffic lanes, where he and his car were struck by a Ford Escape. The Civic driver was thrown into the traffic lanes from the impact and struck by a silver Honda Accord shortly after. The Ford Escape was later hit by a black Ford Bronco.

The Honda driver died at the scene. Both the Ford Escape and Ford Bronco drivers were arrested for various DUI-related charges. At the time of the report, CHP was still investigating the cause and order of the collisions.
