On Sunday night, a male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in San Diego’s Chollas Creek neighborhood, resulting in life-threatening injuries. According to Fox 5 San Diego, the collision occurred at the intersection between 54th Street and University Avenue at around 8:30 pm. A car described as a Toyota sedan was on 54th street heading northbound and entered the intersection on a green light. The pedestrian was crossing the intersection at the same time when he turned and started walking at an angle. He then walked in front of the Toyota and was hit.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for multiple severe injuries, including a liver laceration and a brain bleed. The Toyota driver was unharmed. At the time of the report, an investigation into the collision was ongoing, with alcohol having been ruled out as a factor.
