Reno Air Race Crash, 75 Injured

On Friday at a popular air show in Reno Nevada, a World War II era fighter plane plunged into the grandstands leaving a horrific scene of wreckage. There were at least 75 injured and 10 dead.
The plane was flown by Jimmy Leeward, a veteran stuntman, who may have been unconscious when his World War II-era P-51 Mustang smashed into a crowd of spectators.

Heros Lift Burning Car To Save Biker

Check out this amazing video capturing a group of onlookers working together to lift a burning car off a motorcyclist and drag the man to safety. The event took place yesterday in Utah after a BMW and a motorcyclist crashed into each other.

Nightclub Cab Accident San Diego

Harris Personal Injury Lawyers would like to wish our deepest condolences to all those involved in the Stingaree Cab accident in the Gaslamp District of downtown San Diego.
Early Saturday morning, a cab driver jumped the curb in front of the Stingaree nightclub, plowing into a crowd of people leaving the club around 2am. Police have not been able to determine the cause of the accident, as the cab driver was not speeding and it did not appear that he had lost control of the vehicle. At least 25 people were seriously injured, seven of which are in critical condition. Many described the scene as terrifying and gruesome.

Fiery Crash Leaves 3 Dead, 15 Injured

Police are currently investigating a collision involving a van and an SUV that collided Monday evening, leaving 3 dead and 15 others injured.
Four graduates of Cathedral Catholic High School were driving in a Ford Explorer SUV when the driver lost control of the vehicle and swerved into oncoming traffic. The Explorer collided with a van carrying a cross-country team headed to high-altitude training camp, and burst into flames. Two passengers from the SUV were killed. Police have recently identified the 2 Cathedral Catholic graduates as Amanda Post and Natalie Nield, both former cross-country atheletes. The crash also claimed the life of the driver of the van, identified as Cal Baptist’s Cheerleading Coach, Wendy Rice.
Inyo County Sheriff’s Deputy Shane Scott witnessed the crash while driving and went back to assist the victims. Scott pulled one passenger from the burning SUV and heard another passenger screaming for help inside, but was unable to rescue her.
15 other passengers have been treated for serious burns and injuries, including one passenger who was airlifted to a hospital in Reno, Nevada to be treated for severe head trauma.

Head-On Crash Leaves Two Injured

Two motorists were involved in a head-on collision Wednesday night in the Clairemont Mesa area, authorities report.
An 18-year-old man driving an Acura Integra southbound tried to pass another vehicle and crashed into a northbound Toyota Corolla driven by a 67-year- old man. Police do not suspect the crash was alcohol-related.
San Diego police Officer David Stafford said both motorists suffered serious leg fractures due to the crash. Each driver had one passenger in his car and they sustained minor injuries.

Four Killed in CSU Northridge Crash

Four young adults were killed in a speeding accident Thursday near Cal State Northridge; located in the San Fernando Valley. A Carlsbad resident has been identified as one of the four victims.
Danielle Wolfe, a 22-year-old CSUN senior, was thrown from a speeding Corvette while traveling on a slightly curved road. The scene of the accident was not far from campus or her sorority house.
The driver, Kristin Marie Norris, 22, was a recent CSUN graduate and also a sorority member.
Wolfe and two young men were thrown from the vehicle, while Norris’ body was found still strapped in the over-turned sports car.
According to authorities, the crash near Hayvenhurst Avenue was reported at 12:05 a.m. Thursday.
The Los Angeles police explained that the car was traveling eastbound on Rosecoe Boulevard when it hit a metal guard rail, flipped over, and skidded across near by railroad tracks.
The coroner’s office identified the two men killed in the crash as Jorge Nunez Jr., 28, of Sylmar, and Jossue D. Colato, 23, of Pacoima.
As of Saturday investigators have yet to indicate if the driver of the 2007 Chevrolet Corvette was participating in a race or if there was another vehicle involved in the crash.

Seven People Injured on Highway 78 Crash

Seven people, including several children, suffered minor injuries when three vehicles crashed on Highway 78.
The auto accident between a minivan, a small sedan, and a third vehicle was reported at 3:45 p.m. on westbound Highway 78 and Vista Village Drive.
Initial reports indicated that people were trapped in two overturned vehicles that tumbled off the freeway into a ditch, according to authorities, everyone involved was out when firefighters arrived.
One ambulance took two children to Rady’s Children’s Hospital San Diego, and another ambulance took two people to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego.
A mother, her 11-year-old daughter, and a third person suffered minor injuries, but told medics they would seek their own treatment.

City Bus Involved in Hit & Run Collision

A Metropolitan Transit System bus was involved in a hit and run collision in City Heights, Wednesday afternoon.
A red Mitsubishi Eclipse heading south on 37th Street failed to stop at a University Avenue stop sign and struck the MTS bus at about 3:40 p.m., there were about 40 people on board at the time.
According to authorities, the ages of the nine injured ranged from 18 to 51, and all complained of back and neck pain. Two of the injured were considered serious.
The Eclipse hit the bus just behind the left front wheel and the impact of the collision spun the car around. The driver tried to flee, but the car, which had major front end damage, stalled a few feet away.
The suspect, described as a man between 18 and 25, was seen running north on 37th Street. San Diego Police is working to identify and locate the driver. An open container of alcohol was found inside the car, leading officers to believe he may have been driving while intoxicated at the time of the crash.

Motorcyclist Killed in Balboa Park Collision

San Diego—An auto accident at a Balboa Park intersection Friday afternoon leaves a motorcyclist dead, and a motorist arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
According to authorities, the 36-year-old motorcyclist was moving southbound on Florida Drive when an eastbound 2005 Volvo sedan pulled into his path at about 1 p.m.
The outcome of the crash launched the rider onto the roadway, where he was struck by a second vehicle.
Unfortunately the rider died at the scene.
The driver of the Volvo was arrested on suspicion of DUI and vehicular manslaughter.
